I grew up in the among the towering trees of Vancouver, Washington. Being surrounded by the beauties of nature but within a short drive of the bustling city of Portland, Oregon gave me a unique outlook on life. My undergraduate degree is a bachelor's of science in horticulture and is a testament to the deep impact the forested area I grew up in had on me. I wanted to have a career that would enable me to leave the world a more beautiful place than when I had entered it. My own personal experience with counseling, however, convinced me that I owed more to the world than mere physical beauty. I want to help those who share this world with me to see the beauties of the world and to be free of the burdens that weigh them down. By helping others to overcome their challenges I believe that I still fulfill my early desire to leave the world a more beautiful place, for nothing can be as beautiful as a fellow human being building themselves up and grasping all that life has to offer them. To this end I am currently studying clinical mental health counseling at Argosy University in Draper, Utah. When not busy with my studies or at work at Western Garden Centers I enjoy taking care of my house plants, listening to TED talks and audiobooks and when weather permits hiking in the mountains that surround me.
